Lotfi Chikh is Partnerships Officer for the digital business at Technip Energies. His role is to build an ecosystem of partners capable of addressing identified market needs for the company. In this context, he explains how the Vianeo business design method naturally fits into their way of developing new solutions.
He highlights the clarity of the deliverables provided by Vianeo. Thanks to the business design method, teams can quickly produce an MVP and a business plan—perfectly aligned with Technip Energies’ expectations when developing new products or services. For him, the major benefit is that the solutions developed through Vianeo are driven by the business, as well as by client and user needs, rather than by a top-down, technology-driven logic.
The platform helps structure solutions more effectively to meet a clearly defined market need. He notes that, in most cases, the Vianeo method is used when an innovation need has already been identified. Technip Energies operates through business lines, and these business lines regularly allocate specific budgets for developments aimed at meeting a concrete market requirement. Innovation is therefore directly tied to addressing existing demand.
In this context, Vianeo provides clear structuring and concrete answers. The different components of the method are valuable both for project and development managers and for Technip Energies’ leadership. The tool provides KPIs and actionable indicators, particularly to support funding decisions and the release of development budgets.
He also recalls that the relationship between Technip Energies and Vianeo goes back about ten years, when several Technip Energies employees were trained in the Vianeo business design method. These early adopters progressively created a genuine internal ecosystem. A collective momentum took shape, fueled by positive advocacy and enthusiasm around the method. The need was clear, which made adoption easier.
When Lotfi Chikh joined Technip Energies five years ago, he found that several employees were already certified and played a key role in spreading the Vianeo method. Adoption was therefore straightforward for him, especially since he had identified these colleagues as internal ambassadors. Today, he observes that these connections remain strong, as demonstrated by Technip Energies’ active participation in the Vianeo Club. The ecosystem of certified professionals continues to grow, reinforcing the use of the method and supporting innovation within the company.
