VIANEO & THE ISO 56001 STANDARD
The ISO 56000 series, the result of nearly 20 years of work involving over 50 countries and around 100 international experts, provides a valuable professional framework for establishing a sustainable management practice that has become essential in organizations.
The standard establishes a common language and clear, systemic guidelines to implement a robust Innovation Management System in any organization, focused on creating value through innovation.
Since 2020, Vianeo has been fully engaged in the ISO TC 279 Innovation Management standardization efforts, contributing to the development and dissemination of the ISO 56000 series, particularly ISO 56002 and ISO 56001.
THE FOUNDATIONS OF ISO 56001
Published in November 2024, the ISO 56001 requirements standard provides a structured framework to develop and sustain the innovation capabilities of organizations.Following the example of ISO standards such as 9001, 14001, and 45001, which cover various management systems, it formalizes the requirements of an Innovation Management System (IMS), applicable to any organization regardless of size, sector, or activity.
THE ELEMENTS OF ISO 56001
ISO 56001 is structured like all other management system standards (9001, 14001, 45001, etc.). Centered on innovation, it lays out the eight principles, requirements, and guidance needed to implement and sustain a robust Innovation Management System that enhances organizational performance and transformation.

VIANEO’S COMMITMENT TO STANDARDIZATION WORK
Since 2020, Séverine Herlin, CEO of Vianeo, has been personally involved as a member representing AFNOR in the ISO TC 279 – Innovation Management working group.As the French representative, Séverine has participated in all working sessions dedicated to drafting the ISO 56001 standard, held around the world until its publication in 2024. She continues to contribute by taking part in the revision of ISO 56002 and the development of new thematic reference frameworks.
